Naeemeh Kazemi

Iranian
Naeemeh Kazemi (b. 1981, Tehran) is an Iranian-born multidisciplinary artist represented by Leila Heller Gallery in New York and Dubai. Originally trained as a sculptor, she turned to painting during the COVID-19 lockdown, developing a signature style of richly detailed oil canvases that merge hyperrealism with surreal, dreamlike elements.

Her work features abundant flora, mythic creatures, classical figures, and symbolic imagery that explore themes such as feminism, environmental anxiety, and the psychological effects of isolation. These intricate compositions often serve as personal yet universally resonant visual narratives.

Kazemi’s solo exhibitions include “La La Land” (New York, 2023), which offered an imaginative escape from pandemic reality, and “Bubble Land” (Dubai, 2025), an immersive fantasy evoking spectacle and fragility. She holds an M.A. in Painting from Alzahra University and has been an active member of the Iranian art community since 2002.
