Description
French Modernist Art Deco large-scale adjustable armchair/club chair by Suzanne Guiguichon. This chair was designed for Compagnie des Arts Français. CAF was an artisans' collective, active from 1919 to 1959, which operated as a design firm, furniture maker and shop on rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore. In 1928, Jacques Adnet, the renowned early Modernist, became manager of the firm. In furniture, CAF is most often associated with simple shapes and a classic Modern style. This chair is pictured in Mobilier et Decoration, 1928. It is 30.5" wide x 41" deep x 35" high and the back is adjustable.
