In exceptional condition. A sumptuous edition bound in orange vellum, this beautiful book was the most over-subscribed of all the Nonesuch publications. The production was beset with problems over the paper stock and the binding, therefore as a result, it is exceptionally rare to find such a superb copy without the usual fading to spine or splaying to covers.

Limited edition, number 805 of 1475 copies, printed in Monotype Bladfolio; text in Italian and English printed in parallel, 34 double-page and 8 full-page illustrations after the drawings of Sandro Botticelli; publisher's full orange-stained vellum, double gilt rule borders to upper and lower covers, central gilt device to both covers, gilt lettering to spine, top edge gilt, an exceptionally fine copy.
