Description
A bench by Holger Jacobsen from circa 1936. The bench is made of stained beech with a seating and backrest of woven beech strips.
The bench has most recently been used in the chapel of Assistens Kirkegård (cemetery), Copenhagen, for which Jacobsen designed a reconstruction in 1916.
Holger Alfred Jacobsen (1876 - 1960) was a Danish architect, who mostly worked in the neoclassical style. His best known building is the Stærekassen building, for the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen (1931). He also designed a number of churches and buildings for cemeteries. -
