Description
This extremely rare sofa named Prisma was designed by Tove & Edvard Kindt-Larsen in 1963. It was produced by the cabinetmaker Ludvig Pontoppidan in Denmark. The distinct design is marked by the elongated, geometric shape of the upholstered seat and back. The prism shape of the sides create a striking silhouette which is equally attractive viewed from the front, back and side. This make the sofa ideal for a central, free standing placement in a room. The upholstered part of the sofa rests on a square frame executed in solid wengé wood. The dark grain of the wood offers a beautiful contrast with the light color of the fabric. The sofa is in very good condition, it has been recently upholstered in a white Kvadrat Vidar Fabric designed by Raf Simons. Woven from bouclé yarns with a regular loop size, Vidar has a deep and close-knit texture.
