Mid-Century Modernist Labarge Gilt Eglomise & Brass Mirror signed J. Jacobusse

This stunning Mid-Century Modernist Labarge Mirror in Gilt Eglomise and Brass signed J. Jacobusse originates from the United States in 1988. A beautiful example of it exquisite craftsmanship glamorous use of materials, this mirror features a hand-painted motif in Gilt Eglomise, a process involving painting on the reverse surface of the glass to which goldleaf is applied, creating a wonderful figure to ground dynamic and emphasizing the beautiful hues of muted greens, pinks, and dots of turquoise present in the cherry blossoms. The central mirror panel has gorgeous beveled detailing, framed in polished brass, matching the outermost lining of the mirror. Signed by hand in the lower left corner J. Jacobusse, this mirror was made in 1988 for Labarge. A brilliant example of mirrors of its kind, this piece will style beautifully in a wide array of interiors in settings for mid century modernist to contemporary and minimal spaces.
