Description
PATRICK JOUIN ( b.1967)
The original Lebeau pedestal center table in lacquered fiberglass with silvered glass top. This stunning example is the prototype for all the descendant models. It is no longer in production and a rare find, an icon of Modern design. The table is elegantly tapered at the waist creating a feeling of airy lightness. France , 2004
55 Diameter x 29.5 H
Patrick Jouin opened his design firm in 1998, after a successful postgraduate stint as a designer for Phillipe Stark. Within a few years his stunning interiors and furniture designs were recognized internationally. In 2005 his groundbreaking stereolithography produced “Solid” chair series, the first commercially produced 3D printed piece of furniture ever, revolutionized the design world and initiated the wave of 3D design and production that we are witnessing today. He was responsible for the design of some of the most beautiful restaurants in the world, from Las Vegas to Gstaad to Saint Tropez, including the Plaza Athénée in Paris, and for award winning furniture for Cassina, Alessi and Kartell. He won the Compasso d’Oro, Italy’s highest design prize, in 2011. Patrick Jouin’s furniture is included in the collections of MoMa, the Cooper Hewitt, the Vitra Design Museum, the Stedelijk and the Centre Pompidou, where his works were exhibited in a rare solo show in 2009 ( Patrick Jouin, The Substance of Design ) -
