Description
This is a classic English leather-bound Campaign Trunk that was created in China at the beginning of the 19th century. The trunk is constructed of camphor wood; leather bound and detailed in brass nailheads. The trunk retains its original surface and brass side handles and is in good overall original condition. There is a tag on the lift top indicating the provenance of the trunk. There is a crack to the leather across the front of the trunk, as shown in the photos; with exception of just a couple, the trunk has retained all of its nail heads; the interior is clean and ready for use. Camphor wood was used in the construction of this type of furniture to discourage insects and the pristine interior of this piece proves its effectiveness.
