Description
Designer: Vladimir Kagan
Directional
USA - Circa Late 20th Century
Dimensions: 29" H x 94" W x 47" D Seat 17" H
Condition: Excellent. Newly Upholstered.
Embrace the epitome of Midcentury design with these Vladimir Kagan "Cloud" or “Serpentine” sofas for Directional, USA circa late 20th century. Originally designed in the 1960s. These curvaceous masterpieces, each priced individually, offer a seamless blend of form and function, designed to cocoon you in unparalleled comfort.
The kidney-shaped silhouettes are a hallmark of Kagan’s innovative spirit, with one sofa featuring a left-facing arm and a right-facing enlarged bumper, and its counterpart mirrored symmetrically opposite (right-facing arm and left-facing enlarged bumper). Newly upholstered in a sumptuous beige/cream Italian bouclé fabric, the texture is rich and heavily detailed, inviting touch and adding a layer of sophistication. The all-new foam infill promises contemporary comfort levels within the classic form.
Elevating the sofas are cylindrical plinth pedestal bases and a center support of transparent Lucite, creating an illusion of floating elegance. The round wooden bases, now refinished in a dark walnut stain, ground the pieces with a touch of warmth and solidity.
Each sofa carries the authenticity of the Directional label, a guarantee of its design provenance and quality. Fabric swatches are available upon request for a tactile prelude to the full experience.
With dimensions of 29 inches in height, 94 inches in width, and 47 inches in depth, and a seat height of 17 inches, these sofas present a substantial presence. They are an investment in timeless style, offering a seating solution that is as much a conversation piece as it is a haven of relaxation. Add these Vladimir Kagan creations to your collection and let them be the centerpiece of a refined living space, where design history and modern luxury come together in perfect harmony. -
