Franco Lapini

Italian
Franco Lapini (1936–2017) was a distinguished Italian silversmith and sculptor renowned for his opulent, handcrafted silver-plated creations. After studying at the Istituto d’Arte in Florence, he apprenticed in various workshops before establishing his own studio in 1963. Drawing inspiration from the sumptuous banquets of Renaissance Florence, Lapini meticulously crafted objects such as trays, centerpieces, and chandeliers using traditional 15th-century techniques, including embossing and chiseling. His works, often plated in 999/1000 silver, are celebrated for their originality, elegance, and functionality, gracing luxury hotels, fine dining establishments, and private collections worldwide.
