Description
Beautiful, large bentwood coat rack or wardrobe stand from the world renowed company of Thonet. Elaborately made in the early 20th century around 1905 it shows a spectacular design. Coming in perfect restored original condition, this freestanding Thonet wardrobe stand/ coat rack stands solid on four feet and offers a lot of practical space providing eight artfully bent wooden racks and another eight additional below. The fantastic designed bentwood (=beech wood that has been bent under steam and high pressure) has been trimmed to a lovely very dark mahogany look, finished by a traditional hand-polished shellac surface. The amazing looking ring in the lower third holds your umbrellas. A really extraordinary, early20th century bentwood wardrobe stand/ coat rack from the famous company of Thonet.
