Swedish 1850s Painted Center Table with Carved Volutes and Cross Stretcher
-
Description
A Swedish painted center table from the mid-19th century, with carved motifs and cross stretcher. Created in Sweden during the 1850s, this painted table features a near square top with serpentine lines, sitting above an apron carved with graceful volutes. Accented with acanthus leaves on the knees, the table is raised on four cabriole legs connected to one another through a curving X-form cross stretcher topped with a turned finial. Adorned with paw feet and painted in a soft color typical of the Scandinavian taste, this Swedish center table circa 1850 will be a great addition to any living room or foyer.
