Following his training at the renowned Slade School of Art in London, Julian Schwarz embarked on a creative journey that led him to France in 1990, where he has since made his mark as a sculptor and woodcut artist.
 
A distinguishing feature of Julian Schwarz's work is his ability to craft intricate forms in wood, employing innovative joinery techniques of his own invention. His craftsmanship shines through in the creation of large vessels, meticulously carved from a single block of wood.
 
In 2003, Schwarz further expanded his repertoire by developing a unique technique for working with logs, utilizing traditional hand tools to bring his artistic vision to life with unparalleled precision and artistry.
 
The artistic prowess of Julian Schwarz has garnered recognition and acclaim, with his works finding a place of honor in esteemed public and private collections worldwide. His creations grace prestigious institutions such as the Fonds National d’Art Contemporain, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, the Henry Moore Foundation, the Tate museum, and the Victoria & Albert museum, where his engravings are held in high regard.
