The iconic Malmaison motif dances adorns the rim of this ice cream bowl. One of Christofle's most historic patterns, Malmaison typifies the Empire style, with its frieze of delicate palm and lotus leaves and symmetrical design. The name is a nod to the Chateau de la Malmaison, a favored Parisian residence of Napoleon Bonaparte and Empress Josephine.
Established in 1830, Christofle created silverware for French royalty, including King Louis-Phillipe and Emperor Napoleon III. Each piece is proportionally balanced and hand finished for unsurpassed beauty and designed for everyday use.
