Description
"Allow" is an original encaustic painting by San Diego artist Shima Shanti. Layers of purified beeswax mixed with all-natural earth pigments and fir-tree sap damar are painted on custom Russian Baltic birch panel, then each layer is fused with the flame of a torch. Shima's minimal aesthetic and simple composition combined with deep jewel tone pigments reveal unexpected levels of complexity. Beeswax is one of nature's best preservatives and is impervious to moisture, decay and UV light.
