Description
An original encaustic painting by San Diego encaustic artist Shima Shanti derived from the artists own observation and imagination. Layers of purified beeswax mixed with all-natural earth pigments and a fir-tree sap called damar resin are painted on Russian Baltic birch panel then fused with the flame of a torch. Beeswax is one of nature's best preservatives, impervious to moisture, durable, archival and made to last.
