Hayden MacRae
Canadian
Hayden MacRae is a Canadian glass artist, born and based in Calgary, Alberta. His passion for glass began at age 13 during a workshop, sparked by early childhood curiosity and storytelling. He honed his craft through apprenticeships with several established glass artists in the Calgary area.
MacRae co-founded Fascapple Glass, a studio where he explores the interplay of color, motion, texture, and form. His work often features the Italian incalmo color-stacking technique and draws inspiration from dramatic landscapes like those of southern Utah, as well as the vivid visual language of video games. Embracing the unpredictable nature of the medium, his pieces evolve through the alchemy of heat, oxygen, and timing.
His glass artworks, such as Below the Surface and Convergence, have been exhibited through galleries including Sandra Ainsley Gallery, Elevation Gallery, and Off-Piste Fine Arts.
