Diago Dining Chairs

$ 2,800
  • Description
    4 Edoardo Landi Black Lacquered Brutalist Dining Chairs. These chairs can be sold also by pair as side chairs
    Edoardo Landi Diago Chairs designed in 1973 for Nikol International, Italy. With a wide seat and contoured curved back rest these chairs are extremely comfortable for sitting.

    Minimally sculpted arched back support having slotted oval handle and turned up seats these chairs represent early post modernism design. Brutalism into the post modern era using raw materials, simple silhouettes and geometric shapes. This arose from the post-Mid-Century era which celebrated grandeur, glam, geometric forms and repetitive patterns.
    The chairs are in very good original conditions . Some really minor sign of use .

    Edoardo Landi studied architecture at the Scuola Superiore di Disegno Industriale, Venice. 11965/1966 member of Gruppo enne 65. In the early 1960's Edoardo Landi attended the Superior School of Industrial Design. In 1959–1964 he was founding member of Gruppo N. Gruppo N included Alberto Biasi, Manfredo Massironi, Toni Costa and Ennio Chiggio. Working also as an artist producing a significant body of work. Exhibited with collections MoMA, 1963 & 1966. In 1971 he became interested in graphic design and the use of industrial objects in interior design. This prompted his venture into furniture design, in which he produced several successful designs of the Post Modern Era.

    His Art work is based on the use of geometric shapes with inclinations or programmed separations through which he achieves modifications in the viewer's perception. The artist has developed the phenomenon of retinal fatigue and optical illusions in part of his works, causing a close relationship between the viewer and the work.
