Description
This magnificent Terra rug, hand-made in Tibet, is the embodiment of the finest contemporary weaving craft. It combines ancient techniques with modern aesthetic standards and eco-conscious approach to manufacturing of high quality goods. Its firm, vast body was meticulously hand-knotted of first-rate wool in accordance with traditional ways. Due to such thorough making, this Terra rug matches the quality of classic oriental pieces, and is undoubtedly going to serve its owners for generations without any sings of blemish. Moreover, its soft and tender pile is a pure pleasure to the touch. What makes this carpet special is the fact that it was never dyed – it’s unique palette was achieved by carefully picking out wool in proper shades. The all-over geometric pattern is an exquisite modern classic which those preferring minimalistic design will undoubtedly love. The undyed threads exhibit raw beauty of natural wool maintained in soothing gray tones which outline an abrashed allover geometric pattern. The abrasion is in this case intentional to add venerability and patina impression to the general design. Although presently made, the rug is absolutely worthy of being called timeless. Thanks to its versatility, this terra rug will easily match a wide array of interior arrangements, from classic to state-of-the-art. Doris Leslie Blau carries an exceptional collection of original modern rugs in many styles and materials. Contemporary hand-made rugs are a bridge throughout history, they are the fruit of the constant evolution of the weaving craft that has accompanied men since the dawn of civilization.
