Persian Tabriz Hand-Knotted Wool Rug

$ 18,000
  • Description
    This Persian Tabriz rug was hand-knotted out of wool around 1980 and features a color palette of beige and brown. The overarching design is clearly floral, with numerous palmettes, medallions and flowering vine motifs. The border is intricate, consisting of many layers, each with its own distinct pattern. The main border features floral medallions and flowering vine motif. Meanwhile, the design of the main field is centered around an 8-pointed star medallion, ringed by palmettes. It also features lily motifs which serve as spandrels within the main field. In Persian rugs, the lily is a symbol of purity and spirituality.
