First edition, first impression; 8vo; light offsetting and tape residue to endpapers, else unmarked internally; publisher's brown cloth, gilt lettering to spine, unclipped pictorial dustjacket by Edward Bawden, with Book Society wraparound band, spine slightly tanned, else an exceptional example.
