Monumental Winifred Godfrey Triptych Paintings Oil on Canvas
Offered for sale is a monumental and striking flamingo triptych oil painting group by the American artist Winifred Godfrey (1944- ). The paintings are on canvas and are notated on the verso. A canvas is signed as shown. The stretchers retain the artist's stamps and original gallery tags.
Born in Philadelphia and raised on Chicago’s south side, Godfrey received a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin. Her artwork is included in many private, corporate, and museum collections and has been exhibited throughout North America.
Among her more notable exhibitions are one-woman exhibits at the University of Pennsylvania Museum in Philadelphia, the Organization of American States in Washington, DC, and the Center for Latin American Studies at Harvard. Her work was presented with that of Georgia O’Keefe and Marc Chagall at an exhibit of 20th Century Flower Paintings at the Museum of Art in Fort Lauderdale, FL. -
