Description
An Art Deco style enamel and gilt metal box made by French Jeweler Van Cleef & Arpels circa 1930s. The box was most likely used for cigarette (and small bills) and it has an elegant slightly concaved form and showcases a striking geometrical gilt striped design with a black onyx push button on the front. The interior is black enameled with a removable partition in the middle. The upper edge was numbered 43.020 and signed Van Cleef & Arpels as shown. Gross weight 178.9 dwts
It comes with an original fitting suede pouch with stamped Van Cleef & Arpels signature and logo in gold4000
Founded in 1896 by the Dutch diamond-cutter Alfred Van Cleef and his father-in-law Salomon Arpels in Paris, Van Cleef & Arpels is a French company that specialized in luxury jewelry designs. -
