18th Century Bronze Sculpture of a Child or Putto holding a Dolphin in her hands, formerly configured as a Fountain Figure. Probably inspired by the fountain figure created by Andrea del Verrocchio "Bronze Putto with a Dolphin" (c. 1465/1480, Museo di Palazzo Vecchio, Florence), which once crowned a fountain at a villa belonging to the Medici family.
The present bronze with its charming, well sculpted appearance and medium size makes a very joyful decoration, be it as a freestanding object on a table or stand, placed in a niche. -
