Description
A fine English pre-William-and-Mary, circa 1680 Charles II period side table of rectangular form, the moulded-edge parquetry top inlaid with Laburnum cross-section veneer or 'oystering' within geometric strapwork in holly atop oyster-frieze single drawer with original brass drop pulls on finely turned 'Solomonic' or 'barley-twist-and-ball' ash supports joined by shaped x-form flat stretcher on original bun feet.
A table of exact design but of smaller scale is in the National Trust collections at Beningbrough Hall, North Yorkshire. -
