Description
This dynamic and well designed Mid-Century Modernist Tete a Tete Sofa in Walnut & Platinum Velvet W/Brass Sabots is by Edward Wormley for Dunbar and originates from the United States, Circa 1950. Features a well proportioned geometric composition with L shaped back and armrests mirroring one another on either end of the sofa. The supports are formed in a beautifully finished Walnut with Brass Sabots adding additional detail and protection. The piece is newly reupholstered in a stunning platinum velvet, with evenly spaced and thoughtfully achieved button detailing along the surface of the seat. The original stitched label is present underneath the seat of the Sofa and reads "Dunbar". Tete a Tete is a french term meaning a private conversation, often between friends, where seating of this type gets its name. A striking sofa exemplifying the materials and design characteristics of Mid-Century Modernist furniture, this piece will style well in a wide array of spaces and settings, from Mid-Century Modernist to Contemporary and Minimal Interiors. In Mint Restored Condition.
