Description
Austrian Art Nouveau Complete Library Suite
Item #2606
This Austrian Library /Office Suite is comprised of seven magnificent pieces including three book and display cases, a desk, couch and two chairs.
All of it handcrafted in wood with beautiful Art Nouveau designed inlays, rounded beveled glass front, and tremendous attention to detail.
It would be wonderful to do an entire room with all of this to create a formal study, library or office. Even the insides of the drawers and shelves
are perfectly finished and every door and drawer has a tassled lock and key
We have developed a fondness for furnishings that were created during this period. Art Nouveau, Jugendstil and Art Deco elements can all be found in these pieces that date from circa 1910.
The elaborate inlaid motifs are a Greek Key that encircles all wooden pieces, a series of Greek mythological characters and highly stylized art nouveau floral designs.
It is so rare to find things more than 100 years old with the original upholstery, and we have decided to leave the red and gold striped fabric it as is for the client who appreciates such things. But included in the price is your choice: Refurbishing with new padding and smoothing of the existing fabric or replacement with one of our in house fabrics such as ultra suede or velvet. Or supply your own fabric and we will have the settee and two chairs redone for you.
