Emile Gilioli “Agressivité pure” Tapestry
Adorned with the vibrant hues and intricate craftsmanship of Aubusson tapestry, “Agressivité pure” (Pure Aggression) stands as a testament to the artistic mastery of Emile Gilioli.
Emile Gilioli, a sculptor by repute, delved into the world of tapestry design in 1949, finding solace in the warmth of wool and the expressive potential of color and graphic design. His passion for this art form was recognized in 1957 when he was bestowed with the Tapestry Prize at the São Paulo Biennial. Over the course of his artistic journey, he created an impressive collection of around a hundred tapestries, meticulously woven by the esteemed Pinton and Picaud workshops. -
