Adolph Gottlieb “Untitled” Rug
The Modern Masters Tapestries Gallery proudly presents this exquisite rug by Adolph Gottlieb.
Adolph Gottlieb (1903-1974) was a prominent American artist who played a pivotal role in the Abstract Expressionist movement. A pioneer of abstraction, Gottlieb’s paintings are characterized by their use of pictographs, mythological symbols, bold colors, and expressive brushwork, conveying a sense of mystery and depth.
Beyond painting, Gottlieb was also a skilled sculptor and printmaker, further demonstrating his artistic versatility. His unique blend of abstraction and symbolism has earned him a place among the most influential American artists of the 20th century, with his work continuing to be exhibited worldwide and admired for its emotional power and innovative approach. -
