Triple Door Cabinet
-
Description
This triple cabinet is a visual celebration of George Nakashima's spiritual approach to craftsmanship. Its richly figured single-board top features two highly sculptural free-form edges, honoring the inherent beauty and integrity of the material. A dramatic overhang on one side, accented by a singular butterfly key, imparts the work with naturalistic dynamism and asymmetry.
Thoughtfully conceived and masterfully executed, the cabinet is complete with a finished back that allows for use as a sideboard or room divider. As a whole, the cabinet emphasizes Nakashima's expert synthesis of natural forms and versatile structure while preserving the spirit of the material. -
