Description
On offer for your consideration we have a bronze head of a woman made by Victor D. Salvatore (1885-1965).
This sculpture was cast by Roman Bronze Works in New York in 1922 (marked on the back).
Victor D. Salvatore exhibited his works at the 1904 St.Louis Worlds Fair and the 1913 Armory Show in New York. Among his best know works are a heroic bronze statue of James Fenimore Cooper in Cooperstown, NY. His bust of a child: Top knot and Meditation are in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The bronze is signed with Victor Salvatore name and year of 1922 and have a makers mark RBW. -
