Description
Two Rare and Exceptional French Mid-Century Modern Neoclassical Sideboards in Chinese red lacquer with Chinese red glass tops by Jacques Adnet, France, 1940-1950. (The 2 pieces are priced and sold as individual pieces. so the price shown is for 1 cabinet.) The cabinets have pure lines and an exquisite form. They possess a vibrant red color that fully captivates ones attention. This is highlighted and balanced by gold leaf decorated doors in neoclassical rectangular pattern. A gold leaf apron and turned in iron feet complete compel further attention and complete the composition. In addition, the cabinets are cantilevered over the base to provide subtle, dramatic effect. The pieces function as bars, sideboards, sofa tables, consoles or as a secretary. Furthermore, the Chinese Red glass tops are attributed to Fontana Arte, Italy's premiere glass workshop and the ironwork base and body is attributed to the French ironwork master, Gilbert Poillerat. The cabinets are of historic and aesthetic value and are among the finest pieces produced in France during the 1940 period. Please note: 2 pieces are available; however they are Priced and Sold Separately as Individual Pieces.
