Philip & Kelvin Laverne, Mid-Century Modern, 'Chin Ying' Rectangular Coffee or Cocktail Table, Bronze, USA, 1960s

The "Chin Ying" coffee table by Philip (1907–1987) and Kelvin LaVerne (b. 1937), circa 1965, features acid-etched, enameled, and patinated bronze. The "Chin Ying" motif is on the tabletop, with the signature "PHILIP + KELVIN LAVERNE" on the top. This example sits on a unique Chinese style geometric base. Known for their intricate craftsmanship and artistic design, it is a highly sought-after piece. Work by the father son duo has steadily increased in value over the past 5-10 years.
