Description
Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, Mid-Century Modern, Chan Center, Dining, or Game Table, Bronze, 1960s
The "Chan" center table by Philip (1907–1987) and Kelvin LaVerne (b. 1937), circa 1970, features acid-etched, enameled, and patinated bronze. The iconic "Chan" motif is on the tabletop, with the signature "PHILIP + KELVIN LAVERNE" on both the top and base. This rare example stands out due to its unique base design, which differs from the usual hexagonal base seen in most "Chan" tables. Known for their intricate craftsmanship and artistic design, work by the father son design duo have steadily increased in value over the past 5-10 years.
