Description
The mid-century modern movement, perhaps the most iconic design style of the 20th century, utilises clean lines and straightforward shapes to deliver functional pieces of furniture. These iconic structural chairs, with their refined lines and architectural presence, are prime examples of the enduring appeal mid-century modernism.
The chairs feature an upholstered frame, with slim, tapered legs gently splayed outward, allowing for an overall clean, functional and timeless look. Upholstered in a dark blue textured fabric, the pair exudes elegance and sophistication, balancing the sleek form with inviting comfort. The colour of the upholstery contrasts beautifully with the natural wood tone, the mix of the versatile navy and brown tones further highlight the design’s refinement. The silhouette is reminiscent of Gio Ponti’s model “807” chair thanks to the similar angularity of the body and arms, as well as tilted profile. From all angles, these armchairs offer beautiful textures and an eye-catching form, combining classic elegance and modern aesthetics resulting in a look which is full of energy that will endure for generations. This is also thanks to their exceptional visual quality and uncompromising level of craftsmanship.
Design in the 1950s paved the way to a more aesthetic approach to products as opposed to its utilitarian predecessors, resulting in exceptional pieces like these armchairs.
