Stained pine.

This bench is an example of Sportstugemöbler, a Swedish style that takes its name from Axel Einar Hjorth's furniture line for Nordiska Kompaniet. Intended as "country house" furniture, Hjorth's designs and the style they influenced are recognizable for their craftsmanship, sculptural forms and simple materials. -
