Jade Albert launched her career in the 1970s at the intersection
of fashion, society, and pop culture, with rare insider access to an era where
uptown elegance met downtown edge.

A contributing photographer on the masthead of Andy Warhol’s Interview
magazine, she captured iconic moments for Vogue under Grace Mirabella,
Harper’s Bazaar with Carrie Donovan, and The New York Times. From
Studio 54 and the Met Gala (chaired by Jackie Onassis) to intimate dinners
with Warhol, Salvador Dalí, and Candice Bergen, Albert documented the
cultural elite—Halston, Diane von Furstenberg, the Reagans, Calvin Klein,
Valentino, and more—during what Carolina Herrera called “the last great
burst of madness of the twentieth century.”

Her intimate, black-and-white photography entitled “Beyond the Ropes” stands apart from paparazzi
frenzy, offering insider context and narrative at a time when few women held the camera.

While best known today for her award-winning work in children’s advertising
through Jade Albert Studio, her archive from the 1970s and ’80s remains a vital
record of fashion history and culture—timeless, rare, and resonant.
