Chippendale Drop Leaf Table
Probably New York, ca. 1765-1780.
Figured mahogany, maple, and poplar secondary.
Over-all in excellent condition, minor repairs to corner of one rule joint, retains an old mellow surface with some stains.
Provenance: Private collection, Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
This highly figured mahogany Chippendale drop-leaf table with a small carved drop pendant in the skirt is supported by straight, tapered legs ending on carved ball and claw feet, both attributes of New York Chippendale tables.
