Rare pair of French Modern neoclassical style Curile form armchairs or club chairs in solid bronze with the seats and backs formed by linked bronze fishes and the arms formed by linked bronze sea shells. These chairs are similar to the pieces designed by Armand Albert Rateau (French, 1882-1938) for George Blumenthal, President of the Metropolitan Museum in the 1930s.
