Barovier "Torciglione" Murano Glass Mirror
-
Description
A magnificent piece from one of Murano's finest artisan glass workshops: Barovier. This impressive mirror is made from blown glass bars worked in a spiral, creating a unique shine and texture when light hits them.
The long tradition of the Barovier family reached its peak in the 1920s with Ercole Barovier, who revived the 16th-century tradition of blown glass to create innovative luxury pieces using innovative techniques.
This mirror is an exceptional example of the mastery of Barovier, later known as Barovier & Toso. It incorporates the artisanal technique of Murano glassworks with the elegant and refined design of early 20th-century Italian style. The spiral glass bars are held together by solid glass panels at the corners, which not only serve as decoration but also support the elements of this very special frame.
