Description
These Italian decorative sculptures, likely dating from the late 19th century, each depict a parrot perched atop an ornate pedestal. Carved from wood and finished with hand-painted surfaces, these pieces exhibit a charming patina that speaks to their age and artisan craftsmanship.
Each parrot is uniquely colored in earthy tones of green, blue, and ochre, and rendered with a stylised yet lifelike posture, suggesting a quiet watchfulness. The bases are tripodal and shaped with classical influence, subtly distressed to enhance their antique character. Evocative of Italy’s decorative arts tradition, these sculptures balance naturalistic subject matter with classical design, making them ideal as statement pieces for refined interiors, conservatories, or curated collections. -
