George III sterling silver open salt. Made by Hester Bateman in London in 1789. Curvilinear serpentine bowl on four splayed scroll supports. Engraved and open Neoclassical ornament: paterae with floral surround between open leaf-and-dart borders; beading. Detachable frosted glass liner. Fully marked. Very good condition. Dimensions: H 2 1/8 x W 3 1/4 x D 2 1/2 in.
With: George III sterling silver spoon. Made by Hester Bateman in London in 1789. Hanoverian terminal and round bowl. Fully marked. Very good condition. Deep patina. Length: 4 in.
