Depth: 18.25" // This pair of elegant low-back armchairs date to the late Qing dynasty (1644-1911), designed with spindleback frames and clean-lined silhouettes. Known as a rose chair (meiguiyi) or writing chair (wenyi), this type of informal seat was traditionally used in one's personal quarters and evolved from earlier chairs of the Song period (960-1279) crafted from bent bamboo.
