Sculptural Black Charred Wood Armchair in Organic Form by Logniture

Description
A dramatic fusion of sculpture and seating, this black charred armchair is hand-carved from a single solid hardwood log and shaped with free-flowing, anatomical precision. Its form is wildly expressive—almost creature-like—featuring spiked limbs, flowing folds, and an enveloping backrest that wraps the sitter in shadowy elegance. No two angles are alike; it is a constantly changing silhouette that blurs the line between nature and art.
Crafted using chainsaws and hand tools, the chair is finished with the Japanese shou sugi ban charring method, which enhances its depth of color and woodgrain while improving resistance to weather and decay. Each piece is sealed with natural oils and waxes to preserve its smoky black luster. Despite its fierce visual impact, the seat is surprisingly ergonomic and stable, making it as usable as it is collectible.
A powerful statement for interiors that lean toward organic modern, wabi-sabi, art furniture, or brutalist design, this sculptural piece also works outdoors in covered areas thanks to its charred finish and durable construction. Whether placed in a gallery, luxury residence, or avant-garde hospitality space, it commands attention.

Message from Seller:
We do not cut down, we do not destroy, but seek out downed tree limbs toppled by fierce wind storms or driftwood from the local creek. But, in that moment of discovery all it takes is a tiny spark in the artist's eye and in his vision the piece becomes what it was always meant to be. P: +38.595.396.1045 E: logniture@gmail.com
