Description
A charming 19th-century Swedish Gustavian demilune commode distinguished by its elegant proportions, richly veined rouge marble top, and beautifully cast bronze mounts. Delicate neoclassical garlands drape across a geometric frieze, while bronze ring pulls and tapered legs lend refinement and balance to the composition.
The painted finish has been refreshed over time, creating a soft, luminous patina that feels both sophisticated and inviting. The warm tones of the marble and bronze provide a striking contrast to the pale Gustavian finish, a combination that is quintessentially Swedish in its quiet elegance.
Equally at home in an entry hall, dining room, or bedroom, this graceful cabinet offers both beauty and utility, embodying the enduring appeal of Gustavian design. -
