Jamie Diamond
American, 1983
Jamie Diamond (b. 1983, USA) is a New York-based multidisciplinary artist whose practice navigates the blurred lines between intimacy, identity, performance, and technology. Working across photography, video, sculpture, and film, Diamond creates immersive narratives that examine the tension between the real and the constructed. Often appearing in her own work or collaborating with non-actors, performers, and outsider artists, she crafts layered portrayals of human connection, role-play, and emotional authenticity.
Diamond’s work has been featured in major exhibitions worldwide, including venues such as Fondazione Prada (Italy and Hong Kong), the Canadian Centre for Architecture (Montreal), the Bronx Museum (New York), Mass MoCA (North Adams), and Trapholt Museum (Denmark). She also writes and directs for film, with recent projects including Skin Hunger (2024) and A Minor Variation (2018).
A recipient of numerous awards—including the NYFA Fellowship in Photography and the Sachs Program for Arts Innovation—Diamond has held residencies at institutions such as the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, The Watermill Center, and The Church. She earned her MFA from the University of Pennsylvania, where she currently leads the Undergraduate Photography program.
