Description
An exceptional circa 1805 Irish late George III neoclassical hall bench of solid mahogany construction, the rectangular seat with satinwood and ebony 'zigzag' border inlay above flat seat-rails with satinwood and ebony rectangular-chain border inlay connected at front by thick klismos-form square sabre-legs with corresponding chain border inlay ending in ebonized hairy lion's paw feet, the rear supports in the form of flat pilasters on molded top plinth bases. A rare and remarkable example.
