Description
French Art Deco Vanity Mirror with Sculptural Silhouette, circa 1930s
This striking French Art Deco mirror, dating to the 1930s, exudes the elegance and modernism that defined the period. The silhouette is sculptural, with a shield-shaped upper frame and graceful side extensions that give the mirror a presence beyond its function. Framed in warm, richly toned walnut or mahogany veneer, the piece balances masculine strength with feminine refinement — a hallmark of Deco design.
The mirror itself is subtly beveled, with a slight curve at the crown that gives a gentle architectural rhythm to the composition. Its original silvered glass exhibits soft natural age and authentic character, reflecting not only light but also the craftsmanship of a bygone era.
Whether installed above a console in a grand entryway or as a focal point in a dressing room, this mirror elevates any space with quiet sophistication. It has been well preserved and remains in very good vintage condition. - More Information
