Rare Parker Pen Streamlined Art Deco Display Case with Brass Towers and Walnut Base
A rare and substantial Streamlined Art Deco display cabinet originally custom-made for the Parker Pen Company and used in upscale department stores such as Macy’s during the late 1940s to early 1950s. This striking Parker Pen display case features a central waist-height glass vitrine flanked by a pair of tall display towers. The towers, constructed of solid brass with curved glass corners and fitted glass shelving, are unified by a lighted overhead panel with a frosted glass insert. The structure is anchored by a beautifully finished walnut cabinet base, resting on black-stained pedestal feet.
Each vertical tower rises to 6 feet in height and spans 1 foot in width. From the rear, the cabinet offers ample storage with a set of lower sliding doors and two upper drawers. Each tower secures to the central vitrine with brass bolts, reflecting the modular ingenuity typical of Art Deco’s industrial elegance. The aesthetic recalls the work of Kem Weber, combining refined surfaces and architectural form with functional display needs—ideal for showcasing merchandise, collectibles, or curated art objects.
This original Parker Pen case exemplifies the commercial sophistication of postwar American department store design. Its rounded glass doors, original hardware, and overhead illumination create a commanding presence, both as a functional fixture and as a historical design object. Rear access doors provide locking security, making it perfect for gallery settings, boutique interiors, or as a statement piece in a private collection. A rare find for collectors of Art Deco furnishings and retail history alike. - More Information
