Over-all in excellent condition, customary wear to the stretchers commensurate to age and use, historic iron seat bracing added to inside seat frame.
Provenance: Private Collection, Connecticut.
The rare and unusual oversized Chippendale corner chair of generous proportions has a wonderful carved, shaped crest rail with outward turning arms above well executed pierced splats with heart-shaped motifs. The seat frame and arms are supported by turned stiles terminating into molded Chippendale legs joined by stretchers.
